After mahatoys creation of a 12″ action figure of Basquiat with Medicom, RBK took a license with the Basquiat Estate and invited Maharishi to create the surface design. The shoe is fairly subtle with artworks sublimated into the soles. In a posthumous collaboration, the DPM Bonsai Forest pattern was recreated in chalk, referencing Basquiat’s early chalk graf on New York’s 1980’s streets under his Samo tag.
The packaging and footbed feature the chalk variant of the pattern and includes Basquiat’s crown symbol.
