DPM FOR UNIQLO

DPM FOR UNIQLO Animal Series
UNIQLO invited DPM to design the graphics for a series of womens t-shirts released exclusively in Japan in the summer of 2004, to celebrate the launch of Hardy Blechman’s book, DPM: Disruptive Pattern Material. The Leaf pattern was a printed rendition of the embroidered leaf vein’s previously released by Hardy Blechman for Maharishi.

The t-shirts feature 7 animal print designs, intended to reinforce the belief that camouflage is the domain of the natural world, interpreted by artists after discoveries by natural historians like Abbot H. Thayer, known as the grandfather of camouflage:

Elephant, Zebra, Chameleon, Cheetah, Leaf, Giraffe, Crocodile and Tiger.
