DISRUPTIVE PATTERN MATERIAL EDIT FRANK MAGAZINE

Hardy Blechman and DPM have been invited by Frank151 magazine to handle Guest Editor in Chief role and to contribute a camouflage themed edition of FRANK151 book 19. The mini DPM includes coverage of Bonsai Sunset, peace cranes, medicom kubrick DPM Series 2 figures and other maharishi x Andy Warhol projects alongside a photo shoot contributed by Hardy Blechman and Norbert Schoerner.

In January 2005 maharishi release DPM Identifier Series 2, a collection of six 6 cm Kubrick figures, in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation and the Japanese toy manufacturer Medicom Toy. Following the DPM Identifer Series1, which featured some of the camo patterns used by maharishi for its clothing lines, this second series features patterns from Andy Warhol’s 1986 Camouflage series as well as a Bonsai Forest variant in Warhol’s pop colourway. The intention behind the DPM identifiers is to draw attention to the artistic beauty of camouflage patterns, and to promote the use of camouflage outside of its military context.

Maharishi formed mahatoys in 2002 to encourage a positive change in the toy market – utilizing the camouflage pattern as an expression of nature and art and avoiding weapons. The first release is 1:6 scale Piece and munitions Dump in which to deposit any unwanted weapons from your action figure collection.
