Maharishi partner with Nike to release custom design palettes for three silhouettes — Air Force 1 High Premium, Air Force 1 Low Utility Premium, and Air Max 270 Bowfin Premium — celebrating themes from Maharishi’s Autumn Winter 2018 collection ‘International Redactioniste’.
Embodying aspects of Maharishi’s AW18 Technical collection, the Air Max 270 Bowfin Premium utilises a ripstop upper and DPM: Bonsai Forest printed panels and footbed.
The pattern includes Bonsai trees growing from heavenly clouds, intended to remind us of the theory expressed in Blechman’s DPM book, that camouflage is the domain of natural historians and artists. Layers of the camo pattern are printed with reflective 3M inks, to further express that there is no intention to use camouflage as a way to cancel oneself in order to kill members of our own species.
MILTYPE webbing runs through the centre of the shoe’s lacing system, while asymmetrical branding continues with a redacted swoosh and redacted MILTYPE branding on the toe guard.
